Shit, I don't know what to write about a-kon. When you never post in your journal, you forget how to make decent entries when something fun and interesting and post-worthy happens.

I met Andrea and Gina, who both ended up being quite cool in person. I wish they lived closer, because I'd really like to be able to see them more. Spent pretty much the entire con with them; there were a lot of people that none of us wanted to be around, so we kind of decided we should just stick together and refrain from outside social contact. We did hang out a bit with Sam and Aki (who I knew of but had never talked to, and who I now think seems like someone I'd enjoy being friends with), though, as well as with a few people whose names I won't even pretend to know.

PLC was fucking awesome. They surprised me. Whenever I'd heard them recorded I liked them, but never enough to get into them or to call myself a fan, but Saturday night I loved them. They've got so much energy and it diffuses into the crowd and soon (almost) everyone's jumping and pumping their fists and some people are trying to para but who cares about that because I'm too busy jumping and pumping my fist and going "OH! LAST EMOTION!" and then I realize that they're a great live band and that's that. The concert put me in such a good mood that I was considering blowing all my money on PLC CDs and shirts and glowsticks. I decided against it, though, because I know I'll never like them again as much as I did that night. They supposedly recorded the show for a US tour DVD, which I would buy in a second. I want to relive the magic.

Some other things happened:

1.) I was very tired at the Miyashi meetup, so I made up my own subtitles for Oresama and said them out loud between fits of obnoxious laughter. I'm sure anyone who was actually trying to watch the movie hates me.

2.) I danced and played drums in karaoke Art of Life (which was captured on a tape that I need to see), and I accidentally earned the nickname "Fairy Boy" from a random group of girls due to my completely unintentional prancing.

3.) Andrea and I had a nice middle-of-the-night walk around the outside of the Adam's Mark hotel.

4.) The girls and I made fun of the televised cosplay skits from the comfort of our hotel room and talked about how much we didn't like the anime fan part of anime conventions.

5.) We participated in very few con-related activities.

6.) We saw Harry Potter. I still haven't been able to exactly recreate the face Harry makes, but I'm working on it.

7.) The only CD I bought on the entire trip was in english, and I got it at Target for $9.

8.) IIRUUUVYUUDARASSSSS!

Okay, so I'm downloading Number Girl stuff from a japanese person on winMX. We start talking, and eventually they find out that I'm from the US.

They say to me:

"Yes! Yes! You are fuckin' great! ^^"
